If you have not heard about the new law banning all items made for children under the age of 13 unless tested for lead please click on the button below to learn more and how to stop it. While I think the law makers had good intentions in protecting children they failed to see how many wahm/d and small businesses they would be throwing to the curb. From what I have heard about Barefoot Books is that they are working with the manufactures to get certificates showing the the books have been tested. This law covers EVERYTHING meant for kids, even clothing! Please take action and save our handmade goods now!

I just want to wish everyone a happy New Year and hope it will be a successful one. I have a few plans to try out in the new year as far as Barefoot Books goes. I am going to try the Momprenuer fair at Java Mama again as well as the La Mesa Farmers market. I will also keep plugging along with putting my inventory on my Free Range Baby site to sell as well. I am contemplating approaching day cares with the idea of doing fundraisers for them so they can get new books, puzzles and puppets for the kids they take care of. I will be searching on Craigslist again for fairs or events I can do as well. So there is a quick update as to what is going on and I will keep everyone informed. If you would like to be put on my email newsletter list just let me know.

I have been working hard the past week designing a new e-commerce Website for my business. I am working on listing my Barefoot Book stock and I am trying to decide what else I would like to sell on it. These are the events I have planned so far for Barefoot Books in December so come and buy a book or two for gifts! If you can’t make it to any of these events I can always meet you privately or you can host a party for your family and friends and earn free product! I can also take orders from the catalog or website or you can order on the web yourself just click on the banner below.
- La Mesa Farmers Market: Fridays 2pm – 6pm
- San Diego Cooperative Charter School Winter Bazaar: December 6th 10am – 4pm 7260 Linda Vista Road
- Java Mama Momprenuer Fair: December 17th Noon – 3pm Located in La Mesa Village see website link on the right
- Christmas in the village: December 12th 6pm – 10pm and December 13th 6pm – 10pm. I will be doing story telling approximately every half hour from 6pm – 9pm La Mesa Village I will be in The Bouncing Bead 8323 La Mesa Blvd.
